An interesting attempt to transfer Robert Schumann’s romantic, lyrical music to the guitar. New tonal possibilities present themselves for the repertoire, since Schumann never composed an original piece for guitar. Contains pieces from the piano cycles Album fr die Jugend, Kinderszenen and Albumbltter, but also some lieder like Mondnacht or Im wunderschnen Monat Mai. A highlight is the original Schumann transcriptions by Francisco Trrega (1852-1909) which prove guitarists studied Schumann’s music as early as the 19th century.
