This results in pianos boasting the characteristic Viennese sound, with warm bass, singing treble, and rich overtones. The 8-octave, 9.5′ Imperial 290 is Bsendorfers awe-inspiring flagship grand. The Imperials extended bass range resonates with every key you strike, and its massive soundboard projects emphatically at all frequencies. For Quantum Leap Pianos, EastWest sampled a wonderful-sounding 290 that had been played by a Russian concert pianist for four years. The results are stunning.
