The brainchild of EarthQuaker Devices and Idles guitarist Lee Kiernan, the Gary automatic pulse width modulation fuzz/overdrive pedal offers a destructive yet diverse dichotomy of distortion to give guitarists an exceptional palette for sonic conjuring. With the right switch devoted to fearsome fuzz tone finessing and the left switch reserved for more organic overdrive sculpting, the Gary pedal poses plenty of crunchy chaos across a range of intensities befitting metal, hard rock, punk, psych, blues, and beyond. Its vaguely named duet of per-switch parameters renders itself quite comprehensive when dialing in tones on the spot, with Thats It and Oosh acting as master volumes for each drive, while Go and Yes! respectively level gain and square wave envelope sensitivity. Run your drive and fuzz tones individually or simultaneously, and even connect an expression pedal for exciting pulse width control for inspiring live effects and studio takes.
