  The DW Black Nickel over Brass snare features a 1mm brass shell plated with great-looking black nickel. It works well for most musical genres, and is a great go-to drum for when you want that classic, metallic brass sound. This drum also includes several of DW’s high-end features, including:

  • MAG Throwoff – A magnet keeps the throw locked in the engaged position, while just a slight tug will completely release it. Tension is easily adjusted with the horizontal knob.
  • 3PButt Plate– toggle between three different tension settings for different musical situations
  • Heads – includes an Ambassador clear-crimped snare head and an Ambassador coated-crimped batter head with tuning marks, both single ply.
  • Tru-Tone Snares – 20 strands of stainless steel coil with brass endplates
  • Tru-Tone Hoops – 3.0mm, heavy, round, and flat with a rounded outer edge for head dampening and stick protection
  • Stainless Steel Rods – thesetension rodsare made from extremely strong stainless steel, and have more threading than a typical rod for greater grip and less tuning loss.
