Shalk teaches five popular jazz standards in DADGAD. Artists include: Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, Paul Desmond and David Brubeck – “God Bless the Child,” “Blue Monk,” “Take Five,” “Round Midnight,” and “All Blues.” Each tune is taught phrase-by phrase on a split screen so you can follow the movement of each hand. Background information for each tune and a discussion of how the DADGAD tuning is very adaptable for arranging jazz voicings. Fingerstyle jazz guitar in DADGAD is still largely uncharted territory.
