Steve James, a favorite on the contemporary acoustic blues circuit, teaches five pieces: “Sugar Babe,” an alternating bass arrangement by Mance Lipscomb; the Delta styled “Wet Laundry Blues” with its rhythmic feels, walking basses, and country blues licks; “Buddy Bolden’s Blues” a classic jazz/blues that uses some funky New Orleans-style chords.
